Spanish Chef

Born in Valencia, Begoña Rodrigo is a self-taught chef whose journey into cuisine began unconventionally. With a background in industrial engineering, she moved to Amsterdam at 20, where she discovered her passion for cooking and began her career in 1995 at the Amsterdam Marriott Hotel, spending the next eight years honing her craft while exploring global flavours.
After working in London and a formative period at "La Sucursal" (1 Michelin Star), she returned home and opened "La Salita" in November 2005. Since 2019, the restaurant has held one Michelin Star, earned three Repsol Suns, and featured in some of the world's top culinary rankings. Her exceptional approach to vegetables earned her the title of Best Vegetable Chef in the World 2024 by the We're Smart Guide. Today, "La Salita" also houses "Cooktl," one of Valencia's most celebrated cocktail bars, "El Invernadero," a sustainable outdoor terrace, and "Cookroom," a private dining and events space.
