Chef Shalamar Lane is the founder of My Father’s Barbeque, a soulful, family-run smokehouse built on legacy, love, and the deep traditions of Southern BBQ. Trained at Le Cordon Bleu with nearly 20 years of experience, she has dedicated her career to preserving the rich history of Southern barbecue—where food is about more than flavour; it’s about family, storytelling, and community. Raised in Carson, California with roots in Tyler, Texas and Bessemer, Alabama, her cooking is steeped in the spirit of backyard BBQs and Sunday dinners.

Inspired by the wisdom of her father, mother, and aunties, Chef Shalamar’s signature style blends classic wood-smoking with homemade soul and hospitality. Her dishes carry generations of memory, prepared with heart and intention. More than a pitmaster, she sees herself as a cultural storyteller—using food to connect people to their roots and celebrate heritage, one plate at a time.
